After several personal moments experiencing empowerment while wearing a wig. I decided to include hair design in my artistic work and especially in my tapestry- weave making practice. I see hair as tools for identity and self-display in connection with the culture and tradition of handicrafts. I give free rein to my imagination to go beyond the limits of natural hair. This opens up hair as a design material to play with aesthetics and to explore the value that these added hair pieces might represent.

I mix the techniques of wig making and tapestry weaving, switching the lace for the warp allows me to play beyond what traditional wig techniques would allow me to create. I interlace yarns, threads, strands and diverse materials in order to explore the possibilities of changing what “nature gave us” as a radical act of self discovery and care. Blurring the line between art and design my wigs are portative matters or wall hanging pieces.
